Error: The specified default store could not be opened...
 

While setting up Outlook, you get the error message: "The specified default store could not be opened. Please make sure you can access your default store and try again."

This error is typically the result of a corrupt profile. To work around it, delete the Outlook profile and follow the instructions here to create a new profile.
